The OZEV grant (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles EV Chargepoint Grant) provides up to £500 per socket towards the cost of purchasing and installing an EV charger.
Who is eligible (from 1 April 2026):
- Renters (tenants in rented accommodation with off-street parking) - Flat owners (owner-occupiers in flats with dedicated parking) - Landlords (for rental properties with off-street parking) - Workplace Charging Scheme (businesses can claim up to £500 per socket for up to 40 sockets)
Who is NOT eligible:
- Homeowners who own a house (the grant for standard homeowners ended in 2022)
How it works — Mackie Electrical Services is OZEV-approved. We handle the entire grant application process for you. The grant amount is deducted from your invoice, so you only pay the difference. There is no upfront claim or reimbursement to deal with.
Additional Scottish funding — The Energy Saving Trust in Scotland occasionally offers additional grants or interest-free loans for EV charger installation. Availability changes throughout the year. We keep track of current schemes and will let you know what is available during your consultation.
