Do I need to be home for the EV charger installation?

Yes. You need to be available at the start and end of the installation, though you do not need to watch over us for the entire process.

At the start — We need access to your consumer unit (fuse box) and electricity meter to assess the installation route and make connections. If the consumer unit is in a locked cupboard or the meter is inside the property, we need you to provide access.

During installation — A standard 7kW EV charger installation takes 2-4 hours. You do not need to supervise. Our team works independently and will come to you if any decisions need making (for example, the exact position of the charger on the wall).

At the end — We demonstrate how the charger works, walk you through the different charging modes, help you download and set up the manufacturer's app on your phone, and configure any smart tariff scheduling. We also hand over your electrical certification and any OZEV grant paperwork.

What to prepare — Make sure we can access the consumer unit and the area where the charger is being installed. If you have a specific location preference for the charger, let us know during the site survey so we can plan the cable route accordingly.

The installation is clean and tidy — we leave your property exactly as we found it.
