Yes. Bird mesh installation is one of our most popular add-ons, and we highly recommend it for any solar panel system.
Why it matters — Pigeons and other birds love nesting under solar panels. The gap between the panels and your roof creates a warm, sheltered space that is ideal for nesting. This causes several problems: droppings reduce panel efficiency, nesting material can block ventilation and cause overheating, and birds can damage DC wiring which creates a fire risk.
What we install — We fit galvanised steel or stainless steel mesh clips around the full perimeter of your solar array. The mesh is secured without drilling into the panels or roof, and it is designed to last the lifetime of your system. It is virtually invisible from ground level.
New installs and retrofits — We can fit bird protection at the same time as your solar installation (which is cheaper as the scaffolding is already up) or retrofit it to an existing system. If you already have a bird problem, we clean out existing nests and droppings before fitting the mesh.
