For Scottish roofs specifically — Low-light performance matters more here than in southern England. JA Solar and Canadian Solar consistently perform well in overcast conditions. Jinko and Trina offer excellent durability ratings for exposed sites.
Inverters — The inverter matters as much as the panels. We install SolarEdge, Growatt, Fox ESS, Solis, and Sunsynk depending on your setup: - SolarEdge with power optimisers — best for roofs with partial shading or multiple orientations - Growatt and Fox ESS — strong all-rounders with good monitoring apps - Sunsynk — excellent hybrid inverter if you are adding a battery now or later
What we recommend — We do not push one brand over another. After surveying your roof, we recommend the combination that will perform best for your specific orientation, shading, and budget. The panel and inverter pairing matters more than any single brand name.
