A full house rewire involves replacing all electrical cables, sockets, switches, light fittings, and the consumer unit (fuse box) throughout your property. It brings your entire electrical system up to current safety standards.
When you need a rewire:
- Your property has not been rewired in 25+ years - You have an old-style fuse box without RCD protection - Your wiring uses rubber or lead-sheathed cables - You are experiencing frequent tripping, flickering lights, or burning smells - An EICR has identified Code 1 or Code 2 issues - You are renovating and want to future-proof the property
What to expect — For a typical 3-bedroom house in Central Scotland, a full rewire takes 5-10 days and costs £3,500-£6,000 depending on property size, accessibility, and the number of circuits. We work room by room to minimise disruption, protect your furnishings with dust sheets, and chase cables into walls where possible for a neat finish.
What is included — New cables throughout, new consumer unit with RCD and surge protection, new sockets and switches (you choose the style), updated earthing and bonding, and full testing and certification.
After the rewire — We make good any chased walls with plaster (ready for decorating), test every circuit, and issue your Electrical Installation Certificate. All work meets BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 and is NICEIC certified.
We provide a detailed, fixed-price quote after surveying your property. No surprises.
