The honest answer changed in 2026.
GivEnergy — GivEnergy Ltd entered administration on 9 April 2026. In a statement published by the Energy Storage Association on 15 April 2026, the administrator said the company had ceased trading and would not honour further hardware warranties. That doesn't mean existing systems stop working; working GivEnergy systems can continue operating. But for a new battery you need to know who stands behind the warranty, so we no longer offer GivEnergy on new installations.
Tesla Powerwall 3 — 13.5kWh in a single unit, with an integrated solar inverter and the Tesla app. Tesla's UK warranty covers 10 years with 80% retained capacity, subject to its conditions. Backup needs Tesla's backup gateway, and we show on the quote whether it's included.
Sigenergy SigenStor — A modular system combining battery storage, power conversion and energy management, which suits homes planning solar, storage and EV charging together. It's the system behind our installations at Cambuskenneth, Loch Venachar and Kinlochard. Backup uses the Sigen Gateway where specified.
SolarEdge, Fox ESS and Growatt — We also install these, typically as a hybrid inverter and battery for a new solar system. They can be a good fit where the inverter and battery are chosen together.
SolaX and others — There are good systems we don't install. We recommend what we fit and support ourselves, rather than every brand on the market.
