Will my heating work during a power cut with a battery?

Usually yes, provided the right parts of the heating system are on the backed-up supply.

Gas and oil heating — Even though the fuel source is still available, the system still needs electricity for controls, pumps, valves, and ignition. Without backup power, the heating usually goes off during an outage. With EPS, those components can stay live.

Electric heating — This can also be backed up, but it draws much more power and will shorten battery runtime much faster.

What we normally recommend — Protect the controls and the core essentials first. That way the battery lasts long enough to keep the property comfortable rather than being drained by one or two heavy loads.

Why this matters in practice — In winter, losing heating during a long outage is often the part people notice most. Backup power is not just about lights and WiFi. It is often about keeping the home liveable.

We decide what should stay on at survey stage so the system supports the heating setup sensibly.
